A designer and front end web developer.

Work

Primelending

The main website for Primelending, a PlainsCapital Company. Primelending is a mortgage company.

Second site I built in Crownpeak and there was a steep learning curve for this project.

Role

Primary Developer

Utilizing

CMS: Crownpeak (ASP.net / C#)
HTML, SCSS, JS/jQuery, Bootstrap
Custom boostrap theme

Challenges

The original site was a copy-paste of a wordpress site with few changes since creation, multiple css sheets, and other parts that could be improved in Sites.com (Salesforce).

Successes

The new site was built from the ground up in Crownpeak with ASP.NET master-child templates and reusable components.

The "Connect with a Loan Expert" page is a custom js page build pulling from a json of all of the LOs in the CrownPeak CMS that is automatically updated when loan officer sites are created, thus updating the searchable branches and loan officers with all other loan officer site updates.

The calculators featured on the website were redone in a short amount of time and greatly improved from the original design and javascript code.

A custom sidebar widget was built for the purchase, refinance, and renovate interior pages utilizing user controls in C# that integrate with the color scheme chosen based on one of the three site sections chosen when creating pages from two templates.

Extra Info

Crownpeak's templating system of input and output aspx files were utilized to create easy to fill out form based GUI templates to maintain pages.

There's been improvements and effeciencies since the original site launch, such as the templating of the testimonials and restructure of some of the templates to be more flexible.

Loanplicity

A Primelending site specifically for first time home buyer resources.

Provided support on this project and identified future maintenance challenges before launch. Resolved a strong maintenance concern with a custom widget to utilize in the form view of the GUI for the page templates to reduce duplication and manual labor with updates and ongoing addition of content to the site.

Built a short, simple assessment quiz for users with javascript.

The third site in Crownpeak made from the ground up.

Role

Secondary Developer

Utilizing

CMS: Crownpeak (ASP.net / C#)
HTML, CSS, JS, Bootstrap

Challenges

A short timeline and unknown variables for content relationships. When content was handed over a few days before the initial launch date, I identified a very necessary need for a solution to future maintenace concerns for the website without rebuilding the templates and site after initial launch.

Successes

Created a custom C# class for Post Blocks so that assets could be selected in the CMS input.aspx form view without the need to manually input any of the information individually from those selected assets, and creating a standard output render for the those blocks across all templates that utilized them. This greatly reduced what would have been time consuming manual labor for updates and ongoing maintenance of the code.

An Extra Project

There was a start of a user courses project that was later haulted do to scale and level of effort. I was the primary developer on the project, doing the architecture, HTML, CSS, C# class and utilization of Search G2 (Crownpeak controlled feature), and start of template integration with javascript.

Join Primelending / Recruiting

The loan officer recruiting website for Primelending.

The first website I built in Crownpeak.

The first website built mostly by a Primelending developer instead of the Crownpeak developer.

Role

Primary Developer

Utilizing

CMS: Crownpeak (ASP.net / C#)
HTML, SCSS, JS, Bootstrap
Custom bootstrap theme

Challenges

New platform to learn with no prior experience.

Successes

The first version of this site was manual input and setup. The site was revisited and rebuilt with better utilization of the CMS's templating capabilities.

Total Expert

A CRM and customer engagement platform utilized for landing pages and emails.

When this was brought on, there was no direction with how to utilize the platform. Dove head first into figuring out how the platform could be effeciently utitlized and created all of the base templates and documentation to build landing pages and template-tize emails.

Landing pages ae built with HTML, CSS< and Liquid to create templates and utilize snippets across pages and emails. The contact info sections are dynamically generated, as well as some other pieces of the landing pages.

Role

Pioneering Primary Developer

Utilizing

CMS: Total Expert
Liquid, HTML, CSS, JS, Bootstrap

Challenges

A brand new platform to learn with no prior experience.

Successes

Pioneered development for landing pages and email templating faster than the third party, created documentation, and set the foundation for future development projects. Pioneered solutions for the limitations of the platform the development team would handle.

Aids Services of Dallas

A flyer for a No Tie Dinner and Dessert fundraiser for ASD's supportive housing.

A simple flyer to share with potential sponsers that put emphasis on where sponsorship funds would be going.

Lemonade Hipster

A overall "brand" I enjoy just making things under and trying out designs, whether they totally turn out as expected as I build it. A playground of sorts, mostly for HTML & CSS testing.

Utilizing

HTML, CSS, JS, Bootstrap, Flexbox

Role

Design & Development

Leafline

A personal, ongoing project to learn to build android apps.

Like a lifeline for your plants.

An app for people wanting to develop or refine their plant care abilities with a way to keep up with plant care, without spending a lot of time digging for solutions to plant problems, and building local community connections through plants.

Role

Market Research, Design, Ongoing development

Utilizing

Photoshop, Illustrator, XD

Challenges

All market research, competition analysis, infrastructure considerations like building and managing the database.

Successes

Finding a good niche to fill with the application and narrowing the scope of the features of the application.

Club Collective

Logo design for fictional clubs.

The Detective Club at Whitmore Abhorson High solves cases, and it starts off all fun and games and scooby-doo like, but they start coming across cases in which there is no grumbling adult behind a mask saying ‘I would have gotten away with it too if it weren’t for you meddling kids’, so the Detective Club joins up with the Psychic Club and the Ghost Hunters Club and go on adventures together when they’re not worried about class projects and assignments. The Clubs don’t exactly like each other and they kind of think the other is a load of bull and weird but they get along for the sake of solving cases.

These are the club logos, how they came about, and descriptions of each club.*

*None of this is real. It’s all from a story.

Role

Designer

Utilizing

Photoshop, Illustrator

GaiaOnline

A concept for a modern site refresh and mobile skeleton.

A site from 2003 that hasn't changed much since its launch. I envisioned what it might look like with an update, and a skeleton idea for what the mobile site/app might look like.

Role

Designer

Utilizing

Photoshop, Illustrator

  • New vs old

  • Other color options

Resume

Professional

I started as a designer and taught myself programming. I graduated from college with a degree in Advertising Design. I fit well in the niche between business analyst, designer, and developer. I like to organize and document processes and procedures. I aim for efficiency and consistent improvement in work. I enjoy working on projects of scale and figuring out how everything goes together and working in small teams.

I've done work for over 60 brands in a variety of business sectors doing design or development: print campaigns and branded print material, email journeys, and website creation and maintenance in various CMS platforms like Crownpeak, Umbraco, and Total Expert.

Off Work

I like designing, drawing, writing, and making things. I play DnD and I'm a casual gamer of cute games. Working on building tiny cute houses in Minecraft. Psychonauts 2 is just as amazing as I'd hoped. I'm grinding to Adventure Level 35 in Genshin Impact. I'm stuck on a level in the color puzzle game Hue. Paper Mario and the Origami King deserves another play through.

Current Off Work Project

— A mobile app called Leafline. It's an app that helps people care for the health of their plants.
— A react site called CharChar. I play D&D and this is a character creation SPA.
